Building on a History of Industry Recognition: Okta named a Leader in Forrester IDaaS Research
This week, analyst firm Forrester released research recognizing Okta as a Leader in the Identity-as-a-Service market (IDaaS). The report, The Forrester Wave™: Identity-As-A-Service, Q4 2017,* ranks Okta the highest in both the “current offering” and “strategy” categories among seven IDaaS vendors. History Repeats Itself
Forrester’s ranking follows a history of steady industry recognition for us at Okta. In June 2017, Gartner named Okta a Leader in its inaugural Magic Quadrant for Access Management, Worldwide.** In the Gartner report, we also placed highest on the “ability to execute” axis of all 15 companies evaluated, including both on-premises and cloud-delivered solutions for access management.
Previously, Okta was evaluated in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Identity and Access Management as a Service, Worldwide, where Okta was the only company to appear in the Leaders quadrant for all three years — and we were never out-executed in all the years of that report’s publication.
What Matters Most
For a technology as important as identity, we believe actions speak louder than words. This is why we’re so proud of our placement as a Leader in both the Forrester Wave and Gartner Magic Quadrant, and in particular our top marks in current offering in the Forrester evaluation and ability to execute in the Gartner report. We attribute our placement to focused execution of our roadmap, continued leadership in sales and marketing and, most importantly, our unfaltering dedication to the success of our customers. Our thousands of customers — ranging in size, industry and region — have recognized the need to protect and secure the identities of their employees, contractors partners, suppliers and customers, and we’re honored they’ve chosen Okta for the job.
To us, these analyst reports showcase how the cloud isn’t the only major force transforming the enterprise — identity is, too. Identity can help alleviate and address the most pressing issues on the minds of IT and security leaders today, from protecting against breaches to modernizing enterprise IT to building a first-class customer experience. Identity is the lynchpin that ties it all together, and the Okta Identity Cloud enables our customers meet these modern challenges, no matter where they are in their journey to the cloud.
Another Step in Our Journey
On top of our recognition in industry analyst research, we’re excited about the other achievements and announcements we’ve made over the past months. We’ve expanded globally, with new offices openings in Toronto and Sydney. We hired a new Chief Security Officer as well as a new General Manager of EMEA. In August at Oktane17, we announced product enhancements to improve the identity experience, including updates to our Adaptive Multi-Factor Authentication and Universal Directory offerings. We also unveiled additional developer resources, such as expanded APIs and developer product capabilities to make it easy to build identity into customer experiences.
It’s been an exciting and busy year, and we’re not slowing down. We’re building on our position as a leader in the industry as we continue to drive innovation in identity to manage and secure the extended enterprise and transform the customer experience. As always, we also extend our thanks and congratulations to our customers who have joined us to share in our vision of enabling any company to use any technology, with identity as the critical connecting layer.
