AV Event Production Manager

Come join our Workplace Technologies Team to deliver technology experiences that power our amazing workplaces and deliver on the vision of Dynamic Work for our employees.  The Workplace Technologies AV Event Manager will be responsible for leading a global AV events team that creates world class video and event experiences that wow our employees.  In this role you will oversee all global AV events and lead a team that elevates the employee technology experience.  You will partner closely with our business to understand our partners’ needs, build out and prioritize requirements, and provide a seamless AV event support experience.  With solid experience in corporate and live event AV, a deep understanding of our technology stack, you will help us deliver new AV technology solutions and elevate our existing offerings.  You have solid experience in building scalable and sustainable processes and driving a global AV event strategy. You have a passion for people and proven experience in developing a team of amazing individuals.  

We are looking for an experienced people leader with a strong and deep technical background in AV events and workplace technologies. Ideally you will have a bias towards action, a strong event production mindset, and a high level of technical curiosity.

In this role, you will lead strategy and execution of our global events team, and will continue to proactively drive improvements to our program.  Financial management, vendor management, and people development should also be part of your wheelhouse.  The ideal candidate will be highly organized and skilled at agile management of an AV events team - understanding capacity, prioritization, and how to scale up to address both “quick wins” type efforts and larger projects. In addition to a strong background with event production, you will also have experience with corporate AV and other workplace technologies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a growing & globally distributed team team of AV Event Support Engineers  
  • Responsible for architecture and operations for the event spaces throughout our global office locations
  • Focus on people development for your team, including goals, development plans, and mentorship
  • Facilitate planning for all event projects through prioritization, sequencing, and staffing
  • Develop processes and standards for scalability, reliability, performance, and security
  • Build strong relationships and actively communicate with stakeholders and our vendor partners
  • Partner with the WT Team, Global Workplace Services, and other internal stakeholders to translate opportunities and challenges 
  • Interview and hire top talent as we scale the team to meet growing needs
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure spend aligns to budget
  • Focus on service excellence across our global offices to ensure a high level of production value
  • Have a strong data driven mindset and help redefine success measures and champion both wins and opportunities  
  • Have a builder mindset to drive industry leading technology into our spaces and toolkit
  • Oversee technical resources for AV event support initiatives for smooth and successful delivery

Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • 5+ years of people management experience with technical teams
  • 5+ years of experience in live production events
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate events support
  • Experience delivering technology solutions for sizable office build/remodel projects
  • Experience with Zoom, live streaming platforms (Vidyard, IBM, Vimeo), video on demand platforms (CircleHD, Intrado, Kaltura), Microsoft suite, Google suite)
  • Experience setting up and running AV production equipment (video switchers, audio consoles, wireless mic systems, cameras, lighting)
  • Experience with AV control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron)
  • Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA)
  • Vendor management and SaaS software experience
  • Proven experience delivering engaging employee workplace technology solutions, preferably for a fast growing technology company
  • Experience integrating a variety of platforms to deliver technical solutions
  • Understanding of corporate network architecture, management, and networking technologies (WiFi, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, SD-WAN), ideally leading this function in some capacity
  • Previous experience evaluating, testing, and deploying technology solutions to meet defined business needs
  • Track record of strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tell a story with data
  • Exposure to team/technology strategy and financial/budget management
  • Ability and willingness to travel in the future as needed ~20% of time
  • 8+ years of experience in AV technical roles that require strong communication, partnership, and relationship building with business partners
  • Ability to work onsite in our San Francisco office 4-5 days a week
