Senior Manager, BT Systems Engineering


We are looking for an experienced leader to join our Business Technology, Engineering Services team to lead our Productivity Engineering team, which includes Collaboration and Endpoint Services for Okta.  Productivity Engineers are team players who embed themselves within Business Technology to advance systems architecture and performance for our technology fleet. They are the last level of escalation and is the team that builds and scales our Collaboration and Endpoint Services

We are looking for a smart, innovative, and passionate leader for this role, someone who is eager to solve problems and design solutions for a rapidly growing infrastructure. The ideal technical leader welcomes the challenge and will help us continue to scale with great people, and reliable, cost-effective, and efficient infrastructure, processes, and tooling.  


  • Partner with Compliance, Workplace, and Security organizations to provide and adapt the infrastructure, architecture, and services to support our services inside BT
  • Ensure that we build and maintain the automation, tools, and processes required to manage and secure our productivity tools and services
  • Participate in core team meetings to discuss status, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Drive initiatives to evolve our current collaboration and security endpoints to increase efficiency and align with current standards and best practices
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and retain extraordinary talent for the distributed team of Productivity Engineers
  • Manage service and business expectations and prioritize resource allocation.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of all BT Engineering applications and systems
  • Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders on a regular basis


  • 12+ years’ experience in Information Technology
  • 8+ years’ experience in technical leadership.
  • 7+ years’ experience in people management.
  • 4+ years’ experience running large-scale SaaS infrastructure
  • Experience navigating security and compliance certification audits (e.g. FedRAMP, CIS, SOX, SOC2, PCI).
  • Possess in-depth knowledge in collaboration, messaging, and endpoint applications.
  • Solid understanding of automation scripting languages
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • BS or equivalent work experience
