Manager, Quality Engineering - Okta Verify Clients

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Quality Engineers thus supporting our Okta Verify/Fastpass product. The ideal candidate is passionate about leading quality strategy for large-scale, mission-critical client applications on Apple, Google and Windows platforms.This is a great opportunity to work in an environment of scale, lead a very talented organization, build processes, and be front and center in Okta’s vision of passwordless access to any application. The role gives the candidate an excellent opportunity to learn about interesting problems in security and identity space. It also has a lot of visibility within Okta and has great growth potential.

What you will be doing:

  • Drive standard methodologies in the areas of development testing, functional testing, automation, performance, and resiliency testing with best in class quality practices.
  • Build overall Quality strategy, along with providing visibility around Quality metrics. 
  • Keep the leadership team abreast with overall quality status and issues as they develop. 
  • Be a bridge between Quality and Customer First teams to incorporate end to end customer flows in testing strategy
  • Coach the teams to work outside their comfort zones and provide growth opportunities for team members

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in quality leadership and people management and experience building, growing, mentoring a diverse and distributed team 
  • 5+ years of experience in mobile (ios, android), desktop and/or client facing application testing and automation
  • Experience in building healthy Continuous Deployment pipelines with robust Test Automation practices (e.g. Integration, E2E, Performance) in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort in a globally distributed work culture
  • Ability to optimally prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure fast paced environment

We do not expect you to be an expert in everything below, only that you can learn the less familiar fast:

  • Experience working on Identity and Access Management software and concepts.
  • Experience working on multi-tenant SAAS application environment.
  • Passionate about working on products that can bring world class user experience, are highly reliable, maintainable , scalable and secure
