Technical Program Management - Sr Mgr/Director

As a Technical Program Management Sr. Manager or Director, you are in a leadership position within the Technical Program Management team and the Engineering organization – to partner cross organizationally with Product Management & Design teams as well as the Customer First organization. You will have two main areas of focus: managing and supporting individual Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and their initiatives, and leading a refresh of Agile processes used for end-to-end product development across Product, Design and Engineering. These ownership areas will require not only strong TPM hands-on and people management experience, but also experience leading SaaS organizations’ Agile process creation and adoption.

 

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manage and support a team of TPMs leading product focused scrum teams, programs, projects and processes within Engineering

* Assume ownership for programs tracking features in Beta and those with promised customer delivery dates

* Lead a cross-organizational initiative to refresh and strengthen Agile processes and adoption within Product, Design & Engineering for product delivery

* Champion existing internal Agile and Scrum processes, while also creating and rolling out new processes to improve cross organizational collaboration

* Advocate for the right amount of structure and process to achieve and reinforce agreed upon goals and values

* Provide leadership within the TPM organization to support team members’ professional growth while also maintaining a high value-add engagement model

* Contribute to longer term TPM, Engineering and company scale and growth objectives

* Build and maintain strong partnerships across Engineering, Product and Design organizations

 

Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Minimum 5 years of experience managing and supporting individual Technical Program Managers in an Engineering SaaS organization

* Minimum 10 years of technical project / program management experience in a SaaS product development environment – working hand-in-hand with Engineering and Product Management team members to execute

* Expert level understanding of Agile / Scrum values and methodologies

* Strong process and change management experience – specifically leading product development teams to adopt Agile / Scrum best practices

* Hands-on Scrum Master experience

* Senior level experience kicking off and managing cross-organizational programs

* Excellent verbal and written communication; experience effectively communicating and presenting to teams located across different locations and people ranging from individual team members to C-level executives.

* Strong leadership skills; able to successfully influence without authority

* Technical aptitude/affinity; experience working directly with software, test and/or system engineers

 

Education and Training:

* Bachelor’s degree

* Training in Agile and Scrum
