Okta is at an exciting period of organizational growth and international expansion. We're hiring a Director of Compensation to drive strategic planning and development of our executive and broad-based compensation and benefits programs. Reporting to the Head of People Operations, the Director of Total Rewards will create a rewards vision that supports Okta’s business strategy and growth plans. This newly developed position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to create strategies from the ground up that will further drive high-performance, positive business results, and shareholder value.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead Okta’s global Total Rewards function to effectively design, implement and manage the compensation and benefits strategy, philosophy, programs, policies, and initiatives.
- Hire, develop, coach, mentor, and manage a team of total rewards professionals
- Partner with the Head of People Operations, external consultants and Okta’s Compensation Committee to assess, develop, and design new and existing executive compensation programs
- Prepare and develop presentations for quarterly Compensation Committee meetings
- Build collaborative relationships and provide consultative advice to managers and HR business partners on total rewards strategy (e.g. promotions/transfers, job offers, relocations) and policy and guideline interpretation
- Lead the development of the health and welfare benefits strategy and direct the design, implementation, communication and cost control of health and welfare benefit programs for employees globally
- Develop training programs to educate leaders, managers, and colleagues on the company’s compensation and benefits programs
- Communicate effectively across the organization and develop strategic partnerships with Executive Leadership, Legal, and Finance teams.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA or advanced certification (CCP, CBP, CEP or SPHR) preferred
- 12+ years of experience in broad-based compensation, executive, and incentive plan strategy, design, and administration with proven experience designing and implementing executive compensation plans
- Experience working closely with a Compensation Committee as well as external compensation consultants
- Leadership skills balanced with a willingness to play a 'hands-on' role with key projects
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills required to effectively communicate total rewards strategies at all levels, from administrative to the C-Suite
- Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively to effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing environment
- Global experience in multiple countries
