Global Workplace Senior Project Manager

Job Description

The Global Workplace Project Manager will have oversight of Okta’s real estate projects around the globe.  The Sr Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of managing projects on time, on budget, and to scope.  We prefer analytical types with a desire to solve complex growth issues.  A desire to work in a fast paced environment is critical, managing multiple projects around the world at the same time with a keen eye on programming and designing space to fit the working habits of Okta employees. Attention to detail is a must, with a focus on communication, financials and PM best practices.


The successful candidate will be an integral part in building relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their requirements and designing space in with innovative design in mind.

  • Planning, budgeting, and construction oversight for Okta workplace projects
  • Support office expansion and refresh projects for all Okta offices, globally
  • Development and communication of project status to leadership teams on a regular basis
  • Instrumental in developing design and programming standards for Okta build-outs
  • Develop business requirements by working closely together with the local Okta team leaders
  • Attend site tours with real estate and provide due diligence assessments, to support site selection process
  • Review and assess work-letter and construction documents in lease agreements
  • Provide cost estimates and project schedules for planning and timely updates for any changes
  • RFP and select vendors for design and construction service providers
  • Initiate and manage the procurement of design, consultant, pre-construction and construction services
  • Work with marketing and design teams to develop Okta standards for global office footprints
  • Design and build to budget. 
  • Coordinate / manage internal & 3rd party project managers and vendors
  • Establish a change management and cost control system
  • Initiate corrective action plans if budget and/or schedule are at risk
  • Initiate implementation of a solid project filing platform and provide guidance for project folder structure.
  • Oversee implementation of project scheduling system.

  • College degree or equivalent experience in related area
  • 10+ years design-related and/or project management experience in faced paced growth environment
  • Experience in leadership capacity on a workplace team
  • Experience working with global teams managing projects, overseeing and directing the work of others in locations in a service oriented environment
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Excellent planning and decision-making ability to define and meet performance requirements
  • Knowledge of: CAD, CAFM systems, MS Office tools, project scheduling software
  • Strong verbal communication skills.  Executive presence preferred.
  • Travel 25-50% of the time
