International Accounts Payable Manager

Position Description: 

We are looking for a highly motivated Accounts Payable Manager, INTL to manage the daily operations of a team of Accounts Payable (AP) and assist in optimizing team productivity and efficiency.  The ideal candidate is a strong leader, detail-oriented, communicative, able to work independently and is a team player with a solid working knowledge of AP operations.  This role will be successful by being meticulous, personable, execution-oriented, and able to effectively balance between taking direction and taking initiative.  The position is remote eligible and reports to the Sr. Manager, Global Accounts Payable and Expenses at our headquarters in San Francisco, although regularly interacts with various departments across the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Effectively manage day-to-day AP operations for Okta’s international subsidiaries and lead a team of AP Analysts, globally
    • Develop and maintain AP related metrics and KPI to guide operational decision making through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting 
    • Act as a subject matter expert for all AP related duties, process,policies and controls
    • Provide operational guidance for team of Sr. AP Analysts and serve as an escalation point for the team of AP processors
    • Provide professional development for the team through continuous feedback, mentoring, and advocacy
  • Participate in weekly payment runs, globally
  • Partner with the International GL Accounting team and assist in accounting month-end close procedures related to Accounts Payable
  • Assist the International GL accounting team in compiling the invoices and information required for VAT/GST returns for Okta’s international subsidiaries
  • Enhance and execute critical processes with a focus on SOX, internal control and audit adherence
  • Special projects, as needed

Required Skills / Desired Experience: 

  • 7+ years of Accounts Payable and/or relevant experience, with 2-3 years managing a team, preferably with global and public company experience
  • Ability to understand, retain and communicate the intent of company policies
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work closely with various teams throughout the company
  • Capable of taking initiative to drive process change and improvements
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while maintaining accuracy and delivering against deadlines
  • Motivated to work cross-functionally in a customer service-oriented capacity
  • Knowledge of cloud based systems (Workday Expenses, Coupa and Netsuite) from end user and administrative perspective desired
