Position Description: This position reports to the Sr. Revenue Accounting Manager and supports the continued growth of Okta. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of worldwide revenue accounting and order-to-cash operations by providing leadership, accounting expertise, business sense, and a strong desire to improve processes and controls. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, and a CPA, in-depth knowledge of accounting operations and experience in managing teams in a public company environment. The candidate must have strong organization and communication skills, be detail oriented and hands-on.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review sales arrangements to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies
  • Work collaboratively with Legal, Sales, Business Operations, Billing, Professional Services, and FP&A to drive best practices in revenue
  • Consult with Business Operations and Order Management on deal structure and terms for revenue compliance and optimization
  • Research accounting guidance and prepare technical memos to document Company’s position on revenue transactions.
  • Manage month end close processes
 
   

  • Manage support for monthly close package and internal/external quarterly audit requests
  • Manage quarterly and year-end audit requests and drive issue resolution
  • Support ASC 606 system enhancements and operationalization in RevPro Revenue Management System
  • Streamline and manage monthly manual data integrity and review processes for RevPro data upload
  • Understanding and prior experience with design and implementation of revenue accounting policies and procedures and internal controls to assist with narratives and risk control matrices

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 Public accounting experience preferred
  • 5+ years of public and private SaaS industry experience
  • Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think “out-of the box”
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications
  • Experience with systems including RevPro, Zuora, NetSuite, Salesforce and FinancialForce preferred
