Director, Product Marketing

Position Description:

Okta is seeking a world-class marketing professional to join the growing Product Marketing team.  The Director of Product Marketing will be responsible for overall solutions messaging for the Okta Customer Identity product line. This includes the programs, messaging and content that explain how Okta plays a role in the key C-level initiatives across IT, product, security and marketing teams.

The Director of Product Marketing will bring an innovative and creative approach to storytelling that will differentiate Okta in the market. The individual in this role will become the expert at Okta in targeting product, engineering and marketing leaders, demonstrate a strong understanding of customers’ needs and stay on top of industry trends specific to customer identity. This leader will partner closely with the enterprise sales team to build a go-to-market strategy for customer identity, create high quality content and implement new programs.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze target segments and buyers to understand customer challenges and build buyer personas
  • Identify use cases, then develop and implement solution messaging for Okta’s products
  • Lead the team on creating world class videos and web content that create an emotional connection with customers and make Okta stand out among the competition
  • Produce high-quality solution content for sales and marketing and work with relevant go-to market functions to execute
  • Collaborate on plans for digital campaigns and field marketing programs to drive pipeline
  • Build materials and train sales on solutions by partnering with sales and technical enablement teams
  • Provide in-deal support to the sales team to assist in strategic opportunities and support ramping new sales team members

Required Skills:

  • Experience marketing to product, engineering or marketing buyers
  • 6-8 years as B2B SaaS or platform product marketer
  • Proven track record of marketing to a technical audience. You must be comfortable working with and marketing to technical buyers within enterprises.
  • Proven track record of supporting Enterprise sellers and Enterprise sales leadership
  • Proven track record of creating industry and/or solutions-specific messaging and content
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience presenting to C-Level executives
  • Passion for measurement, metrics and continuous improvement across the organization
  • Project management skills, can manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • An MBA is a plus
