Senior Customer Conference Marketing Manager

Position Description:

We’ve established a world-class annual customer conference, Oktane, and we’re looking to make this event bigger and better every single year. We obsess over the details, we get excited about the small touches, we build experiences to delight and amaze every customer and prospective customer who attends.

It is no exaggeration to say that Oktane is the most important 3 days of the year for our company. Every single person who works at Okta is trying to build something new, something important, something long lasting. And more than anything we try to make our customers successful in what *they* try to do. So when we get our employees, partners and our customers together in one place for a few days, it is truly exciting. We’re building a movement and a community, and our annual conference is the clearest marker every year for how far that movement has come. 

There’s a lot to do for Oktane, but we’re not stopping there. We’re expanding customer events and our passion for Oktane to new unique audiences – including developers. So we need your help! The Customer Marketing team is looking for a creative, proactive, and approachable marketer to scale Oktane and build our developer conference. We want someone who shares our passion for customers, and has a proven track record in scaling large customer conferences. You will be responsible for driving registrations, coordinating the agenda and building one-of-a-kind activities and experiences. You’ll wear multiple hats and both drive strategy, while also executing logistics and effectively measure program success.  


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead promotional campaigns and registration programs for annual customer conference.
  • Develop strategy for, and execute, marketing campaigns across multiple channels, employee incentive programs, sales promotions, outbound calling campaigns and more.
  • Build targeted campaigns for customers, prospects and partners.
  • Test, track and measure results of all offers for all audiences.
  • Deliver delightful and engaging experience for customer, partner and prospect attendees.
    • Manage mobile app experience and on-site networking programs
  • Manage breakout session agenda, including content planning, speaker communications and deliverables.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the company, including executive staff, product, sales, operations and customer success teams.
  • Build developer event
    • Own and manage all aspects of our first 1-day industry event for developers
    • Key responsibilities will be: manage promotional campaigns and registrations, build compelling agenda, design on-site experience

Required Skills:

  • At least 5-7 years experience managing large-scale customer conferences required, with a focus on positive customer and engaging experience.
  • Creative, flexible self-starter. Okta is a fast-paced, agile work environment and we need the best and brightest to support our growing team.
  • Strong attention to detail, proven experience managing multiple projects at once.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, ability to present to both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of employees and customers.
  • Experience in B2B enterprise software space.
  • Preferred: Experience building programs and events for developer audience.
