Senior Email Marketing Specialist (San Jose, San Francisco)

Position Description: Okta is looking for an email marketing professional to join our Okta team. In this role, you will be a key part of our email distribution for the marketing team and other cross-functional areas of the organization; executing email campaigns for end-users, customers and partner audiences globally. Acting as one of our internal experts on our marketing automation platform, you will help the Okta team create email campaigns in a simple, strategic, and scalable manner. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and analytical individual to build a career in marketing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand the framework of campaigns, lead routing, list uploads, and data management between systems and enable the team as needed while red flagging issues and aligning with Marketo Operations to deliver data and functionality from our campaign efforts in our marketing automated system to our CRM system
  • Build send and trigger campaigns, upload images, test, QA, deploy email campaigns, coding and editing HTML, verifying copy, layouts, links, and dynamic content within pre-defined SLAs and be able to report back the success of your efforts
  • Create email initiatives, road maps, and A/B tests and review deliverability, email performance, QLs, Stage 1s, Stage 2s, and Influence metrics in Marketo and SFDC with the team to continuously evolve and improve campaign performance, reporting key findings to the team on a quarterly basis
  • Present data findings and best practices to the team as needed to help develop our email programs
  • Work cross-functionally and enable with corporate marketing, demand generation, customer success, business operations, and other areas of the organization to discuss email execution goals, timelines and success metrics to deliver a best-in-class end-user, customer and partner email experience, documentation, and strategic quarterly projects on-time and within our pre-determined budgets

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytics and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • A strong team player that is collaborative with a positive can-do attitude
  • Understanding of field management, data management between systems, and data hygiene
  • Required: 3-5 years of email marketing experience, preferably in Marketo, and Marketo certification is a plus
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver is a plus
  • Experience with a CRM system, preferably Salesforce.com
  • Self-sufficient, can complete tasks and projects independently and within groups with limited management required
