Web Developer

Position Description:

Our Web Marketing Team is hiring a Drupal Web Developer. This person will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our marketing sites, including okta.com and developer.okta.com. We’re looking for someone who will partner with our external web development agency to take on theme development and enhancements, technical operations for the marketing sites, database management, custom module development as well as the maintenance, security, and management of the website hosting environment. In addition, this person will be focused on the speed and optimization of the sites.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop pixel-perfect, responsive sites and landing pages using Drupal
  • Ensure high-performance and availability of the marketing sites
  • Work with Acquia to optimize the hosting set-up of our Drupal instance
  • Manage the relationships with our web development agency and our hosting provider
  • Own the technical decisions, strategy, and architecture for our sites
  • Build out process and technical operations support for marketing
  • Evaluate, recommend, and select Drupal modules, as well as other plugins or tools for desired functionality

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of web development experience
  • Ability to design, manage, and maintain enterprise level CMS solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in building responsive websites using Drupal 7 or 8
  • Knowledge of PHP, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Experience with popular front-end frameworks, like Vue.js
  • Drupal-specific PAAS providers (Acquia, Pantheon)
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge and experience in working with key Drupal APIs
  • Experience with developing new as well as customizing existing Drupal modules, themes, functions, and code base
  • Experience with Content Delivery Networks such as Cloudflare/Amazon CloudFront
  • Experience with SSL/TLS certificates
  • Ability to setup, configure, manage, and perform all phases of web application development, testing, and deployment
  • Experience with the implementation and use of modern website development workflows and development operations using a variety of tools including GitHub
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to stay on schedule and produce results in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of SEO, performance, and security best practices
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment        
  • BA/BS or higher in computer science, web design, or related field or equivalent experience
