We’re looking for a passionate product leader to take the Okta Identity Engine to
the next level. Okta’s industry-leading access management platform allows
organizations to protect their applications while providing a delightful experience to
their users no matter what the use-case. The platform supports everything from a
seamless registration flow to a high-assurance authentication flow. In this role, you
will own the functionality that enables Okta’s customers to configure, deploy, and
extend Okta’s access management functionality. You’ll own the roadmap for our
policy engine, the extensibility points to connect to other systems, and the
experiences for end-users, admins, and developers. To succeed, you will need to
have a strong understanding of the customer use-cases and translate them into a
simple and flexible access platform within the Okta Identity Engine. You should
expect to partner closely with our engineering, design, product marketing, and
business development teams.
Our goal is to deliver an access management platform, not one-offs for individual
requirements. Customers will be empowered to build their use-cases with Okta’s
platform quickly and easily. Experience building market-leading products or services
with a high degree of out-of-the-box customization for different clients is desired. If
you also have a technical understanding of web and mobile experiences and a
passion for user experience, you’ll fit right in! You will require a keen ability to
understand customer requirements, strategically prioritize what’s most important
for the short and long-term, and collaborate with your PM team and Okta as a whole
to deliver an innovative product.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Understand and prioritize the needs of the customer. Partner closely with
Engineering, Design, and Marketing to test problem hypotheses and validate
solutions with customers
- Think strategically about problems and create solutions that deliver
immediate customer value while aligning with your long-term vision
- Write high-quality product requirements, partner with engineering on
executing on major infrastructure projects, and be a leader of your feature
learns
- Define measurable outcomes for your teams and regularly track and report
on progress.
- Collaborate with product marketing and technical marketing to support the
creation of messaging and content and enable the Okta sales team
- Drive efforts across the entire PM team to define new classes of Okta
integrations. Create a broad ecosystem of partners and SaaS vendors who
can benefit by building integrations for the Okta platform
- Work closely with our Tech Partnership and Strategy to identify industry
trends and define Okta’s approach to capitalize on those opportunities
Basic qualifications:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience working on building Platforms
- and/or Developer Tools
- You put the needs of customers above all else and walk back from their
- problems all the way to creating detailed product requirements and bringing
- solutions to market
