The successful candidate will be responsible for enablement of our world class pre-sales and customer success teams so that they can accurately position and competitively differentiate Okta. You are able to understand complicated technical concepts quickly and enjoy gathering in-depth competitive intelligence. Strong communication and presentation skills are critical attributes for this role.
Integration of Identity, Security and Mobility with on-premise and SaaS ecosystems are key to how customers leverage Okta service. Almost every enterprise customer has on-premise infrastructure, such as VPNs, servers, LDAP and Active Directory (AD) environments as well as dozens if not hundreds of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS services ranging from productivity platforms like Office 365 and GSuit to critical infrastructure like AWS services. Experience and familiarity with a range of on-premise and cloud-based IT, security, mobility and infrastructure products and technology stacks are a critical requirement for this role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
You will contribute to strategy and drive execution of world class technical enablement for presales engineering and customer success organizations. You will establish clear well-thought through plans and own and lead every aspect of delivery against those plans. Your written and spoken communication will be flawless and compelling, and you’ll be able to explain complex technical detail in plain language without extensive use of jargon or acronyms.
This includes aligning with your product management and product marketing counterparts throughout the product development lifecycle. You will perform in-depth analysis of competitive products and technologies to compare and differentiate them with Okta. You will create and maintain demo environments that demonstrate key differentiators and customer value drivers for the Okta service. You will author in-depth technology and solution content that will be used by sales, engineering, product management, and executives
As a communicator, you will brief customer-facing technical colleagues as well as customers on technical aspects of the product. This will include formal training events, customer-facing webinars, conferences and field updates. We’re looking for someone who is a detail-oriented planner and executor, and a leader who will own and drive deliverables while coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
- 5-8 years of technical marketing or presales or customer facing support experience required
- In-depth knowledge of security and systems management landscape and products and a good understanding of how they are implemented in typical customer environments
- Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely with very strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment with fiercely competing priorities
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols and products
- Familiarity with VPN and Firewall products
- Familiarity with enterprise mobility products and tools such as MDM, MAM and mobile security
- Familiarity with a broad range of IaaS and SaaS applications
- MCP, MCSE, CISSP, CCSP will be a plus
