APAC Sales Development Leader

The Challenge 

Okta is seeking a results-oriented and strategic head of sales development to be part of the senior leadership team of the APAC organisation and help Expand Okta’s presence and fuel our growth in the Asia Pacific market.

In this high visibility role, you will be working alongside Okta’s GM for APAC, and sales and marketing leadership to generate pipeline across ANZ, Japan and the ASEAN countries. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a team in hypergrowth and drive international expansion for an industry leader in an enterprise software company. This is a great fit for a highly operational, charismatic individual with a passion for connected Sales and Marketing and people development.

This leader will excel at driving repeatable pipeline, building world-class teams and partnering closely with sales, marketing and channel teams to solve new Go-To-Market challenges. As head of sales development you will directly lead the teams of business and sales development professionals (inbound, outbound, channel) and be responsible for the overall plan to fuel our APAC growth across multiple segments and key geographies.  

This person is a seasoned manager who thrives in a dynamic environment and moves quickly to build structure and process. They will be comfortable collaborating across senior functional owners throughout the company including at our corporate offices in San Francisco, and leading a team of 15+ members across several functions and over-time will manage team leads and first line managers. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, onboard, train, mentor and develop a team of young professionals in business development, sales development and channel development functions
  • Build a plan to fuel Okta’s growth by generating top-of-the-funnel pipeline across multiple geos and segments
  • Execute on the plan to bring new business opportunities to fuel the sales pipeline
  • Consistently meet or Exceed pipeline quotas 
  • Provide call coaching, prospecting, and messaging structure and guidance
  • Offer career development and coaching to advance individuals on the team
  • Analyse pipeline data and draw business insights. Make business decisions based on the data
  • Help create and prioritise strategic target account lists

What you need to succeed:

  • Demonstrated experience and success building quality sales pipeline for B2B SaaS business
  • Strong leadership qualities, and demonstrated success of leading a high performing team
  • Deep understanding of demand generation, inbound and target account marketing strategies
  • Experience leading a Sales Development, Business Development or Inside Sales organisations
  • Adept at collaborating with sales, product marketing and cross functional marketing team
  • Highly self-motivated and organised. Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Quantitative skills to make data-driven decisions and reporting
  • Creative mindset and can-do attitude
  • Salesforce experience is a must. Other prospecting and Sales Development tools are a plus
  • College degree or equal experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment across various time zones
  • Office daily presence is a must. Some travel may be required
