Services Asset Manager

Position Description:

The Professional Services Knowledge Manager will focus on standardization and optimization of Okta PS assets across all Service Lines. This role will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and developing a functional knowledge management platform to support our Global Delivery Organization. This will involve partnering with all departments across Professional Services, developing a community of consumers and contributors, and ensuring a one stop shop of knowledge is in one place to support the Global Delivery strategy.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and document knowledge management standards utilizing best practice methodology that will improve productivity and investment decision making to realize targeted business outcomes that support the regional teams
  • Develop and own a central repository for all current and future OKTA PS assets
  • Provide thought leadership in knowledge management ways of working through innovation and methodology improvements
  • Define and control a search methodology standard, to include tagging and keyword search
  • Collate and catalogue all pre-existing Professional Services developed code, define and control a check in check out methodology.
  • Build a community of practice for the knowledge Management function across all global professional Services teams.
  • Perform or oversee reviews of knowledge management to ensure standard best practices are being utilized and provide recommendations and/or coaching as necessary based upon review results

 

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience in knowledge management with a proven track record of establishing a knowledge repository from a zero starting position.
  • A proven collaborator with a strong personality and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Experience coaching Subject matter experts in artifact concepts and practices.
  • Experience driving change management initiatives across an organization
  • Strong influencing skills; ability to work cooperatively at all levels in a matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal/team effectiveness
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, planning, organization, and time management.
  • Clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross- functional project teams and functional management
  • Highly organised with an exceptional ability to methodically and repeatedly transform unstructured data into structured consumable content.
  • Business acumen; ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective
  • Demonstrates initiative; results oriented, can-do attitude
  • Excellent decision-making skills – ability to negotiate and balance decisions and manage competing priorities across multiple areas

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in knowledge management principles and practices
  • Project Management Certification (PMI PMP or PGMP, Prince 2)     
  • Experience implementing initiatives at multiple levels in an organization
  • Excellent facilitation and issue resolution skills
  • Previous experience operating in a matrix organization
  • Experience managing global initiatives
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively to determine and develop approaches to solutions with very little to no supervision or direction
  • Experience with web technologies and  MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
