This Is Oktane Like You’ve Never Seen It

Ryan Carlson, March 4, 2019

I say this every year, but Oktane is my favorite time of the year. Today, I’m excited to announce a jam-packed agenda and impressive lineup of guest keynote speakers for Oktane19. And this year we’re headed back to where it all started: we will be in San Francisco, at Moscone West, April 1st - 4th.

We know our customers get invited to dozens of events, so we want to give everyone who attends an experience they’ll never forget. This means pushing the boundaries, from the interactive experiences in our expo hall, to a diverse range of identity-centric talks and presentations, to our customer appreciation party.

Can’t-miss guest keynote lineup

Our lineup this year brings a wealth of experiences and insights to the stage, from our customers to the following keynote speakers.

Viola Davis is a critically revered, award-winning actress of film, television and theater known for her intriguing and groundbreaking roles. She is the first black actress to win a Tony, Oscar, and Emmy Award in addition to being the most Academy Award nominated black actress in history.

Frank Abagnale is one of the world’s most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. For over 40 years he has worked with, advised and consulted hundreds of financial institutions, corporations and government agencies around the world. Mr. Abagnale’s rare blend of knowledge and expertise began more than 50 years ago when he was known as one of the world’s most famous con men. His riveting story provided the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film, Catch Me If You Can, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Abagnale.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989 while working as a software engineer at CERN, the large particle physics laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland. With many scientists participating in experiments at CERN and returning to their laboratories around the world, these scientists were eager to exchange data and results but had difficulties doing so. Sir Tim understood this need, and understood the unrealized potential of millions of computers connected together through the Internet.

Jeff Lawson is the founder, CEO and chairman of Twilio. A serial entrepreneur and a software developer, Jeff co-founded Twilio in 2008 to bring communications into the world of software. Prior to Twilio, Jeff was co-founder & CTO of NineStar, founding CTO of Stubhub.com, co-founder, CEO & CTO of Versity and one of the first product managers for Amazon Web Services.
