Michael Chen

Workplace Sustainability Project Manager, Okta

Michael Chen is based in New York City, where he manages Okta’s global workplace sustainability program. His work spans renewable energy, green building certifications, waste and circularity, and GHG data, helping embed sustainability across Okta’s real estate and operations. Before joining Okta, Michael supported corporate sustainability programs at Meta and Google (via JLL). He previously spent three years in Lampang, Thailand teaching math and environmental science, which inspired his commitment to holding companies accountable for their environmental impact. He was named to Trellis’s “30 Under 30” Climate Leaders list, and in his free time, he trains for marathons and triathlons recently completing his 10th marathon at the New York City Marathon.
