Ryan Carlson is the CMO of Okta, overseeing demand generation, brand, customer marketing, public relations, analyst relations, partner marketing, and corporate communications. Ryan has worked in technology and startups for more years than he cares to tell everyone reading this bio. Before joining Okta (back when the team was just a few dozen strong), he ran product for Redwood Systems and he has held various product and marketing leadership roles at Xilinx, Velio, and Cypress. Ryan holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. He lives in Oakland with his wife and two young daughters. A few of the hobbies that he has given up include backpacking, fly-fishing, and exercise.

Patrick Timm is the Manager of Identity and Access Management for Kohl’s Department stores. With over 160,000 employees, consultants and vendor identities under management Patrick’s team along with their partners have a focus on operation excellence, project development, IAM strategy and security governance. Prior to working at Kohl’s Patrick traveled the country as a PeopleSoft consultant with a focus on implementing role-based security frameworks for clients. In his spare time Patrick enjoys spending time in the back country of any number of national parks in addition to trying to perfect the ever illusive scratch handicap on the links.

Eric Karlinsky is a Group Technical Marketing Manager for Identity Products at Okta where he's been for almost 2 years. He is an Identity and Access Management professional with 8 years experience in the IAM industry. Prior to his role at Okta, Eric was an Identity and Access Management consultant in the Washington DC Metro Area, helping public sector clients implement Identity Management programs and solutions. Before starting his career in the industry, Eric graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in Computer Engineering. He currently lives in San Francisco with his wife, where they enjoy eating, drinking, and hiking the incredible mountains within the Bay Area.

DeSouza is a certified information systems security professional. He is a member of the Society for Information Management and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
