With more than 1,000 apps in our Okta Application Network, we’re surrounded by disruptive companies that are reshaping their corners of business.
Last week, we profiled how ADP’s shaking up corporate payroll with its cloud solution. This week, we’re changing tack to business intelligence. GoodData, another popular app in our network, has created a savvy cloud-based platform that’s upended business intelligence. Companies can plug in GoodData to their existing cloud apps to collect data that allows them to run their businesses more intelligently — and at a fraction of the cost IBM and other legacy BI providers. It’s affordable, flexible and accessible from anywhere.
Why It’s Cool: It’s business intelligence in the cloud. Companies can slice and dice those datacubes! Also, GoodData works with many of the apps in our Okta Application Network, including Salesforce.com, Pivotal, Zendesk, BrightIdea, Enterasys and GetSatisfaction, to name a few. GoodData (and its clients) are everywhere.
Plus, GoodData has a Powered by GoodData program for ISVs to embed their platform that is truly different. They quote on their site "No expensive OEM deals. No long engineering efforts. Offer your customers free or paid analytics products in 90 days." 90 days! Wow.
Our friend Aaron Levie at Box.net gets it. In a piece he wrote for CNNMoney about cloud disruption in the enterprise, Levie mentions GoodData and their 2,500 happy customers who’ve jettisoned the complexity and cost of legacy, on-premise software for the cloud.
