Job Description

Okta is looking for an AI Strategy & Operations Director to join our newly formed AI Strategy team. As Okta accelerates its investment in Generative AI, this role will serve as the right hand to the VP of AI Strategy, helping execute on the vision, coordinate initiatives across the company, and ensure alignment across functional departments. The Director will own the creation and execution of a unified AI roadmap, drive executive-facing communications, and establish the operational discipline needed to scale AI impact across the enterprise.

You will partner closely with our Business Technology, Finance, and business leaders to integrate AI into Okta’s planning processes, track impact, and measure ROI of key initiatives. You will also be responsible for maintaining visibility with the executive team and the board, ensuring AI strategy is tightly connected to enterprise priorities. This is a highly cross-functional role with significant visibility, requiring strong strategic acumen, operational rigor, and the ability to influence at the executive level.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and maintain a unified 12-month Generative AI roadmap, incorporating technology initiatives, use cases, and cultural/people deliverables

  • Lead executive-facing communications, including executive staff updates, board materials, and performance dashboards

  • Partner with Business Technology, Finance, and functional leaders to integrate AI into Okta’s annual planning and prioritization processes

  • Own AI impact tracking, including adoption, satisfaction, ROI, and business outcomes, ensuring insights guide future investment

  • Provide flexible, hands-on support as company priorities and industry dynamics evolve

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 8–10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or leadership roles at high-growth technology companies

  • 2+ years of people management experience, with proven ability to grow and scale teams

  • Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, FP&A strategy, or a similar role with demonstrated executive storytelling skills

  • Hands-on AI experience: has led a critical, complex initiative with measurable results, or held a role with company-wide responsibility for AI-driven change

  • Track record of incubating new teams or functions from scratch in ambiguous environments
