We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global Payroll Manager to join our growing Finance Global Capability Center (FGCC) in Bangalore. This leadership role is critical for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our international payroll operations. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing payroll processes, primarily supporting our employees and regional teams across Europe (EMEA) and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in multi-country payroll, a proven leader, and a change agent dedicated to process excellence and standardization in a dynamic, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Payroll Operations & Management:
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll processing cycle for multiple countries across the EMEA and APAC regions, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees.
  • Partner closely with regional payroll teams, HR Business Partners, and Finance to ensure seamless data flow and process execution.
  • Oversee the processing of off-cycle payments, final settlements, and other ad-hoc payroll activities.
  • Support standardization and continuous improvement of payroll processes within the FGCC to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of payroll operations.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements to streamline workflows.
  • Lead and participate in global payroll projects, including new country setups, system implementations, and vendor transitions.
  • Support regional teams to ensure all payroll operations are compliant with statutory regulations in each country, including income tax, social security, pensions, and other local deductions.
  • Maintain a robust internal control framework (e.g., SOX compliance) for all payroll processes, ensuring clear documentation and adherence to audit requirements.
  • Stay current with changes in international payroll laws and regulations and proactively implement necessary changes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for payroll-related inquiries and audits.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of payroll specialists and analysts within the FGCC.
  • Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Finance, HR, Legal, and regional business units.
  • Effectively communicate payroll-related information, changes, and updates to employees and management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing multi-country payroll.
  • Global Payroll Professional Certification (e.g., CIPP, CPP, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience managing payroll for countries within the EMEA and/or APAC regions is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of international payroll principles, tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Strong experience with major Tier-1 payroll platforms (e.g., ADP GlobalView, Workday Payroll, SAP, Oracle).
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams across different time zones and cultures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a Global Capability Center (GCC) or a shared services environment.
  • Experience in payroll system implementation or migration projects.
