Senior Software Engineer, Identity Governance & Administration

The Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) team is one of the fastest-moving teams at Okta. Our mission is to redefine what a modern governance solution looks like. We are building a unified platform that helps customers strengthen their security posture and simplify compliance by eliminating data silos, enforcing least privilege with minimal friction, and orchestrating critical identity processes. We are looking for talented engineers to help us create a future where security is both powerful and effortless.
Responsibilities
As a key engineer on the IGA team, you will:

Innovate and Collaborate: Partner with the product team to discuss, challenge, and iterate on product design, creating solutions that solve real-world security challenges.

Build High-Impact Solutions: Design and build highly resilient and scalable Okta Identity Governance solutions that impact thousands of customers and millions of users.

Create Powerful APIs: Design and build robust REST APIs that are the backbone for our 7,000+ customers and partners, enabling them to improve their security and efficiency.

Drive Engineering Excellence: Collaborate with management and architects to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies, ensuring successful project delivery.

Ensure Quality: Write comprehensive Unit, Functional, and Integration Tests to maintain the highest quality standards.

Embrace Agile: Actively participate in all scrum activities, including daily stand-ups, planning, review, and retrospectives.
Required Skills
-
4+ years of software development experience, with at least 1 year of experience building highly resilient and scalable enterprise software.

Experience with high-performance Postgres or MySQL environments.
-
Experience with REST API design.
-
Proficiency in Java.
-
Experience with server-side technologies, including caching, asynchronous processing, and multi-threading.
Nice to Haves
-
Exposure to gRPC API development.

Exposure to microservices architecture.

Experience with Spring and Hibernate.
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant industry experience.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:$130,000—$194,000 CADWhat you can look forward to as a Full-Time Okta employee!
