More Security Chatter from RSA

The RSA Conference, the largest IT security show of the year, ended two weeks ago, but the conversations that took place are still reverberating. Chris Preimesberger, editor at eWeek, has identified a few of the major themes that are likely to impact IT departments in 2012:

  • Web application firewalls. With the number of cyber data hacks rising, organizations continue to focus on sophisticated attacks launched against their sites.
  • BYOD. “With the oncoming bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend changing how IT administrators control access to applications on the network, vendors rolled out mobile device management products designed to make the process less daunting.”
  • Security in the Cloud. Is the cloud best used to serve security tools or to “protect the data housed within from cyber attacks”?
