About the Team
The Professional Services R&D team is a new, dynamic group at the forefront of innovation within Okta. Our mission is to design and build reusable, scalable assets and tools that empower our delivery teams and partners. By making customer engagements more efficient, streamlined, and cost-effective, we directly contribute to our customers' success and accelerate their time-to-value with Okta. Position Summary
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be a critical guardian of quality for the R&D team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the automated testing frameworks that ensure our reusable assets are robust, reliable, and bug-free. You will embed a "quality-first" mindset within the team, working closely with developers to implement comprehensive test strategies and integrate them into our CI/CD pipeline. Your work will directly ensure that the tools we provide to our field teams and partners are trusted and effective.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable automated test frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing.
- Write and execute automated test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage for all developed assets.
- Integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous delivery and rapid feedback.
- Work closely with developers and the Product Manager to understand requirements and identify potential quality issues early in the development lifecycle.
- Define the team's overall QA strategy, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Triage, document, and track defects, and collaborate with the team to ensure timely resolution.
- Champion quality engineering best practices across the R&D team.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a QA Automation or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role.
- Strong programming skills in at least one language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Postman, Jest).
- Experience with testing both APIs (REST, GraphQL) and web front-ends.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience integrating tests into pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- A meticulous eye for detail and a passion for building high-quality software.
