The role of CIAM in building seamless, customer experiences

Customers today have outsized expectations on what frictionless, seamless registration and login experiences should look like. To adapt, companies of all shapes and sizes are adopting modern application development practices to deliver delightful experiences for their customers. To do so, a modern CIAM solution becomes a digital business imperative for all key stakeholders of the customer experience. The key pillars of a modern CIAM solution are:

  • Build simple registration and sign-on experiences for end users
  • Enable developer efficiency with a rich set of APIs, SDKs, and other developer tools
  • Empower centralized management of access and security policies
  • Protect against internet-scale risks
  • Extend identity to your entire application development, security and marketing technology stacks

These capabilities enable organizations to easily tackle any customer-facing project they may have, including building highly scalable apps, integrating apps, securing APIs, protecting against account takeover or integrating B2B identities.

Until recently, organizations have needed to rely on legacy identity solutions or to build them in-house, slowing down speed-to-market and resulting in compromises in user experience. Okta’s Customer Identity solution gives organizations a customizable, extensible platform to unlock any end-user identity journey at any scale, tightly linked to their other technologies.
