Michael Photiades

PhD Student, University of Cyprus

Michael Photiades is a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a researcher at the KIOS Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence at the University of Cyprus. His research focuses on analysing adversarial infrastructure, fraud ecosystems, and IoT botnet operations, as well as developing practical solutions for threat intelligence, threat profiling, and cyber risk assessment. He has published peer-reviewed work in IEEE and contributed to the EU Horizon COCOON project. His work combines academic research with real-world threat landscape challenges, aiming to strengthen defences against evolving cyber threats.
