The Sales Strategy & Operations Team

Sales Operations acts as an extension of sales leadership. As part of Okta’s GTM Strategy & Operations team, we protect the investment in Okta’s rapidly growing Sales organization by ensuring Sales has the insight, tools, and processes to run effectively and efficiently. This specific role is part of our Field Operations team which is responsible for supporting growth and efficiency in the AMER Public Sector sales teams.

The Analyst, Sales Strategy & Operations - Federal Role

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Sales Strategy & Operations analyst to join our team. You will be responsible for accurately inputting, managing, and updating data within a multitude of systems. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse cast in our high-performing Ops organization (Sales Planning & Operations, Business Systems, Marketing Operations, Data & Analytics, Sales Enablement, and Customer Success). 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Familiarize yourself with our current infrastructure for managing account and customer information, and assist in enhancing its functionality.
  • Regularly update and manage data records to guarantee they are complete and accurate. Address any discrepancies or errors in the data as necessary.
  • Play a role in the annual planning process for Sales, contributing insights through data enrichment and analysis of historical data.
  • Collaborate with the data team, sales operations, customer success, and other departments to support data-driven decision-making across the business.
  • Identify areas of potential revenue growth within our customer and prospect base.
  • Propose adjustments to our business strategy based on anticipated growth.
  • Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities and projects as our business expands.

 What you’ll bring to the role

  • Operational experience spanning 1 to 3 years, with a minimum of 1 year in an analytical or operations role.
  • Prior experience with SaaS companies and/or managing significant Strategic/Enterprise accounts is preferred.
  • In-depth familiarity with our toolstack, including:
    • Proficiency in Salesforce (essential): creating complex dashboards & reports, custom report types, utilizing calculated fields, and understanding workflows.
    • Competence in sales productivity tools like Clari, People.ai, Outreach.io.
    • Experience with Anaplan or similar business planning software.
    • Proficiency in Tableau or other business intelligence tools for analysis.
  • Strong quantitative skills, especially in MS Excel (e.g., sumifs, index/match, vlookup, table formulas).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrates healthy skepticism and curiosity, actively seeks feedback, and strives for deeper insights through data analysis.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in problem-solving, consistently delivering high-quality and accurate work within deadlines.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following! 

  • Knowledge of Public Sector/Federal standards (e.g., FedRAMP, DoD IL4/IL5, and related compliance protocols) is advantageous.

  • This position requires the ability to access federal environments and/or have access to protected federal data.  As a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee. 22 CFR 120.15) upon hire.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$86,000$130,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $97,000$145,000 USD
