Today, I’m excited to announce that we’re furthering this vision by launching a $50 million investment fund: Okta Ventures.
With Okta Ventures, we have the opportunity to support companies doing groundbreaking work in identity-related areas. Through the fund, we’ll partner with startups focused on identity, security and privacy, and those making inroads with the most cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain.
We’re in a unique position to nurture and support Okta Ventures portfolio companies beyond our initial financial investment with a wide array of invaluable resources and guidance. Some areas include free access to Okta’s Customer and Workforce Identity Products for a year, the ability to leverage Okta APIs, joint marketing opportunities and unique industry expertise. In addition, Okta Ventures’ value extends beyond our portfolio companies as Okta customers will benefit as well, since the success of the startups we invest in will further strengthen the Okta Integration Network.
Our first investment is in Trusted Key, a company pioneering the future of secure and trusted digital identity with innovative blockchain and mobile technologies. Not only does Trusted Key have an incredible team, but its values also align with Okta’s. We both put our customers first, and understand the challenges organizations face when it comes to providing a secure, user-friendly and customizable solution.
There is a thriving community of companies today contributing to the identity, security and privacy space and we believe Okta can play a complementary role during these early formidable stages of growth.
