The Business Technology Team

This role joins the Business Technology organization and plays a critical part in realizing our vision to accelerate the delivery of business outcomes across Okta by driving clarity, collaboration, and accountability in everything we do. We enable the broader Business Technology organization in the mission to “Accelerate Okta’s Scale and Growth”.

The Manager, Enterprise Product Opportunity

As a Manager in the Business Technology Enterprise Product Team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Salesforce Product Analysts in managing and maintaining the organization's existing applications, systems, and infrastructure. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring the stability, reliability, and availability of Business Technology, and providing timely and effective support to end-users. You will also collaborate with other BT teams, stakeholders, and vendors to optimize application performance, implement enhancements, resolve incidents, and ensure compliance with established processes and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Talent Development:

    • Hire, develop, mentor and retain exceptional talent
    • Provide support and guidance to the team to remove obstacles and mitigate risks
    • Drive career conversations and provide opportunities for team members to grow

Performance Management:

    • Utilize a data driven approach to define key performance metrics, and ensure they are met or exceeded
    • Manage team member allocation, shifting resources to support Okta where they are needed most

Operational Excellence:

    • Prioritize production support and enhancement requests based on business needs and impact
    • Refine operational processes to ensure a smooth intake and distribution of work

Cross Functional Collaboration:

    • Along with a Scrum Lead, oversee a cross functional scrum team including developers and admins
    • Lead a team of Product Analysts to collaborate with business partners and developers to deliver solutions that enable the business

Change Management and Documentation:

    • Provide oversight to ensure that all changes are properly tested, approved and implemented
    • Ensure that process and technical documentation are up-to-date and socialized outside the team

Strategic Contribution:

    • Contribute to the strategy of our global operating model and how that applies to Enterprise Product

Security and Compliance:

    • Collaborate with the security and compliance teams to ensure that Salesforce applications adhere to organizational security policies and industry regulations
    • Conduct regular audits to identify and address security vulnerabilities

Innovation Hub:

    • Cultivate an environment of innovation within the team, encouraging members to explore and implement new Salesforce features, integrations, and technologies
    • Establish a mechanism for continuous improvement based on feedback and lessons learned

Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in the IT space, with 3+ years of experience managing a team of product analysts, business system analysts or consultants focused on the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Experience coaching and developing employees to meet career objectives
  • Understanding of business value streams and processes - campaign to opportunity, opportunity to order, order to cash, issue to resolution, recruit to retire, procure to pay, plan to report.
  • Track record of fostering innovation within the team, encouraging creative problem-solving, and implementing forward-thinking solutions
  • Successful experience leading teams through organizational change, including system implementations, process reengineering, and technology adoptions
  • Expertise in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes to uphold the highest standards in application development and system maintenance
  • A comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements, ensuring all processes adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations (ex. SOX Compliance)
  • Experience working in a global or multi-location environment, effectively collaborating with teams across different time zones and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices within the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Proven ability to integrate new technologies and methodologies into existing processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presentation abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring you plan ahead and achieve goals and milestones on time
