The Federal Salesforce Product Owner Opportunity

We are looking for a Federal Salesforce Product Owner with experience in the Salesforce Government Cloud and additional FedRAMP High authorized Go-to-Market applications to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for strategic, cross-functional initiatives as well as ongoing enhancements and production support.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Salesforce functionalities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products.  You have experience working within FISMA, FedRAMP, DoD IL4/IL5, HIPAA and related compliance policies.  You have a security-first mindset but understand the balance of delivering a seamless customer and employee experience.

In this pivotal role, you will take charge of managing a strategic roadmap for the FedRAMP High compliant Salesforce instance, placing a particular emphasis on Service Cloud and Experience Cloud features. As the key liaison between technology and business stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in developing and nurturing relationships to ensure the alignment of technology solutions with business objectives. You will collaborate with Product Owners outside the federal sector to maintain a cohesive and integrated approach across the organization.  You will be responsible for overall delivery by leading the federal scrum team through a Scrum and Agile development framework.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand unique business needs and translate them into a strategic product roadmap
  • Define and communicate the overall vision and strategy for Federally authorized Salesforce-based products
  • Maintain a holistic view of all business system processes and users, to understand functional impacts with regard to configuration, process, workflow and reporting
  • Prioritize and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that features and enhancements align with business priorities
  • Clearly articulate user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications for development teams
  • Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and the scrum team, providing guidance and clarification on requirements
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews
  • Oversee UAT sessions to ensure that delivered solutions meet business requirements and expectations
  • Use an “always on” mentality to ensure platform stability, working with production support and the scrum team to resolve defects
  • Ensure that releases are well-communicated, and stakeholders are informed about changes and impact
  • Monitor and encourage user adoption, gathering feedback for further improvements
  • Prepare and present regular reports and KPIs to stakeholders
  • Ensure process and technical documentation is created and maintained
  • Adapt to changing priorities of the business and seek out creative solutions

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 8+ years of IT experience including 2+ years of hands-on implementation of Government Cloud and 3+ years of experience with Service Cloud and Experience Cloud
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, with a focus on Salesforce products
  • Experience designing and supporting large-scale, technically complex solutions on Salesforce and associated ecosystem
  • Experience with Scrum and Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze the business processes and business systems for inefficiencies and lead internal customers to success
  • Stay on the leading edge of new technology, and bring innovative solutions to business problems
  • Demonstrable ability to oversee end-to-end lifecycle, from conception to launch
  • Good time management and self-management skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast growing/fast paced environment delivering accuracy while managing to deadlines where adaptability is imperative
  • A “security first” mindset
  • Certifications preferred (ex. Service / Experience / Sales cloud consultant, Product Owner certifications)

Additional requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to access federal environments and/or have access to protected federal data.  As a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee. 22 CFR 120.15) upon hire.

 

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$132,000$198,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $148,000$222,000 USD
