The SDET is responsible for ensuring high product quality through test strategy, automation,
and close collaboration with engineering teams. This role focuses on building scalable test
automation, identifying quality risks early, and advocating for the customer by maintaining a
strong quality bar throughout the software development lifecycle.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Review product requirements and design specifications to create effective test plans and
detailed test cases - Develop, execute, and maintain automated UI and API tests, including end-to-end,
reliability, and scalability testing - Collaborate with engineering management to scope, plan, and estimate quality
engineering work - Document and communicate quality engineering plans, test strategies, and risks to
scrum teams - Review application code to identify defects, gaps in test coverage, and potential areas of
weakness - Design and implement test frameworks and tools to improve automation coverage and
efficiency - Automate all critical features to maintain a zero test debt approach
- Ensure features are released with high confidence in quality and stability
- Participate in on-call rotations to respond to production alerts and customer-reported
issues - Act as a strong customer advocate with a deep focus on quality and user experience
