The Global Communications Team
We work around the globe to shape internal and external conversations about Okta, identity, security, privacy, and technology innovation. We are builders and owners of the company narrative and engage with the press, analysts, the public, customers, and employees. You will play a key role in growing this team, elevating the importance of identity, and evolving Okta’s story.
The Opportunity
Okta is seeking a driven communications pro to join our Communications team. In this role, you will report to the Director of Corporate PR and partner with key stakeholders across the company to share Okta’s vision and impact with the world.
We are searching for a PR maven with a passion for building and trendjacking newsworthy stories and a strong background in media relations, thought leadership, social media and content creation.
What you’ll be doing
- Support Okta’s media relations efforts, including writing pitches, press releases, blogs and other content spanning across various functions - CEO and executive visibility, finance, M&A, product, security, and more
- Develop global media events strategy across earned and paid
- Help shape Okta’s corporate and business narrative with proactive PR efforts and announcements
- Partner with Okta’s PR agencies to identify new stories and reporters to engage with
- Be a relationship builder for Okta with reporters, producers, and influencers
- Lead the development of social content for Okta executives and proactively bring new and creative ideas for leveraging social
- Support development and evolution of Okta’s narrative and executives’ external thought leadership platforms
- Support broader team on media issues management, inquiries and response
What you’ll bring to the role
- Specialist: three to five years of communications and PR experience
- Senior Specialist: five to eight years of communications and PR experience; agency and in house experience is a plus
- Expertise in pitching journalists and producers, and landing meaningful stories; cybersecurity experience (or passion for cybersecurity) is a plus
- An understanding of Okta’s business and experience working with technology companies
- Passion for the tech and business media landscape and a strong sense for what makes a story newsworthy
- Strong writing skills with a distinct POV
- A detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple high-profile projects and deliverables
- Willingness to travel a couple of times a year

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$103,000—$155,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $115,000—$173,000 USDWhat you can look forward to as an Full-Time Okta employee!
