Okta’s Marketing Strategy & Planning function drives the Marketing strategy formation and planning motion to optimize marketing performance, deliver a strong return on investment, and achieve our company objectives. 

Manager, Marketing Strategy & Planning - Web & Digital Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy & Operations, this role will act as a strategic partner to our Web & Digital leadership team to drive strategy formulation and planning motion. We are looking for a seasoned Marketing Strategy & Planning leader to partner closely with Web & Digital leaders, as well as partner across Marketing and GTM to develop a shared set of priorities, growth strategy, and operational plan.  You will ensure the Digital & Web strategy is coordinated and cohesive and supports our company objectives. As a key partner to the SVP of Digital & Web, you will act as a liaison between Marketing and the wider GTM teams, including Sales, GTM Strategy & Planning, and Financial Planning teams.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Support Digital & Web SVP to spearhead the development of the annual and quarterly planning process, ensuring alignment with Marketing leadership and wider GTM teams. Apply functional expertise and insights to support the strategy formation and validate alignment to the company objectives with optimal return on investment 
  • Partner with Digital & Web leadership to drive the prioritization of marketing investments and align budget owners on trade-off decisions. Support the creation of an investment framework to quantify business outcomes, resource allocations and prioritization 
  • Support Digital & Web SVP  with quarterly business review (QBR) process and deliver insights on Digital & Web performance in partnership with the Analytics function
  • Build and own budget management for Web & Digital, including annual and quarterly planning. Ensure accuracy in forecasting, correct utilization of funds and day-to-day management 
  • Regularly inform stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, GTM Strategy & Planning of deeply analytical insights on Digital & Web performance to ensure cross-functional alignment and drive a data-driven decision strategy. Analyze and interrogate insights to proactively identify opportunities and prioritize initiatives to drive the business forward. 
  • Partner with data scientists, data engineers and Marketing practitioners to identify new variables to improve the depth and accuracy
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Digital & Web leaders. Provide recommendations on operational improvements and ways to drive effectiveness and efficiency across teams
  • Play a key role in driving complex, cross-functional, global initiatives and the success of our Digital Transformation initiative    

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in Marketing Strategy & Planning, Analytics or a similar role at a B2B, SaaS company 
  • 8+ years in managing Marketing budgets and resource allocation 
  • Deep understanding of key drivers of business and marketing strategy (pipeline and revenue analytics, investment ratios, funnel metrics, martech foundation)
  • Exceptional analytical skills, experience defining metrics, performance data analysis, identifying trends and measure impact
  • Proven experience in building a holistic Marketing strategy and supporting execution within a high growth, global company
  • Exceptional structured thinking and problem-solving skills 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functionally and geographically distributed teams 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • BS/BA or equivalent required


Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$123,000$185,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $138,000$206,000 USD
