We are in search of a Manager, Credit and Collections to join our high performing credit and collections team.  The ideal candidate is a leader that is a detailed-oriented, self-motivated team player, with a solid working knowledge of credit rules and policy, collections, and internal controls, as well as experience with the related operational accounting execution.  This role will be responsible for liaising with sales and alliance stakeholders, quote-to-cash leadership, and the related Finance Shared Services team, to support the creation and execution of effective and streamlined collections policies, creating a more efficient month-end close process, SOX and operational audit process, evolve reporting and metrics, as well as identifying and driving project-based work to enable scale for the business.  Additionally, this individual must thrive on process improvement and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.  

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive alignment with stakeholders on credit and collections policies, including sales and alliance leadership.  
  • Work as a hand-on leader to manage the day-to-day activities of the credit and collections department, including onboarding, training, and mentoring.
  • Partner with sales and alliance cross-functional teams to lead quarterly QBRs with strategic customers and partners.
  • Drive projects and efforts to continually achieve operational excellence and improvement for collections, customer service and processes, while partnering with finance transformation and business technology teams
  • Optimize cash collection, portfolio management, and credit management by ensuring accurate collections processes and procedures are followed, including
    • Oversee collections process on outstanding invoices
    • Collections on past due invoices, negotiating repayment plans when necessary
    • Dispute resolution
    • Deactivations for past due accounts and/or work stoppage on past due Implementations
    • AR refund requests
    • Monitoring for at-risk accounts
    • Continuous credit evaluation of existing accounts
  • Assign and monitor individual and team goals, drive accountability for credit and collections KPIs.
  • Establish quarterly aging, cash and DSO goals and monitor forecast vs. plan
  • Prepare bad debt allowance calculation and supporting schedules
  • Reinforce a customer-centric culture in our organization that builds highly collaborative relationships with Sales, Finance, Operations and Senior Leadership.
  • Perform financial and credit analysis regarding new customer opportunities, past due accounts, high risk customers and other financial impact areas.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate credit policy and regulatory requirements

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in Credit and Collections
  • 3+ years of progressive management and leadership experience
  • Prior experience managing staff, with experience with shared service centers (preferred)
  • Experience in credit and collections policy creation for Saas businesses
  • Strong analytical skills; problem solver, high level of curiosity, ability to dive deep, find solutions and deliver results
  • Solid experience with key financial tools and ERP systems as well as Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to clearly communicate and present to senior management

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$106,000$160,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $119,000$179,000 USD
