Join our team! We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

Information Security is a top business imperative at Okta. In addition to driving security in our Corporate environment and Okta service, the Security team is deeply entrenched in the Okta business. As such, we contribute to product roadmaps, branding, research and other strategic aspects of our operations. We work across multiple functions, business partners and the research community. We are an engineering-focused team that seeks to stay on the cutting edge of security technology and the threat landscape.   The Opportunity: Join our Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) team as a Detection and Response Engineer. You'll be at the forefront of defending the Okta platform, infrastructure, and corporate environment, contributing directly to our intel-driven approach to cybersecurity.   What You'll Do:
  • Build and maintain cutting-edge detection and response capabilities.
  • Orchestrate and automate critical security processes, from alert enrichment to automated responses.
  • Actively participate in alert triage, incident investigation, and remediation to safeguard Okta.
  • Act as a watch-person, participating in on-call to support our 24x7 incident response capability for the APJ region.
  • Identify and implement tools and data solutions that continuously elevate our defensive posture.
What We're Looking For:   You're someone who works well with others and communicates clearly. You’re naturally curious about how systems work together because you know that effective defence starts with deep understanding. You like to automate the boring stuff, and if a tool doesn’t exist, you’re the kind of person who builds it. You stay level-headed when things go sideways and trust your instincts to make smart, calculated decisions. You’re driven by a growth mindset and always looking to learn whatever’s needed to keep growing in your career.   Ideally, you have experience or exposure to:
  • Contributing to technical teams in a security context.
  • Supporting cyber security incident response.
  • Developing and automating detection capabilities.
  • Researching advanced adversary tactics (TTPs).
  • Validating and assuring defensive cyber capabilities.
  • Analysing systems for both vulnerabilities and defences.
Tools and Technologies:    While experience with Data Analytics, Python, Cloud IaaS and SaaS products and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is a plus, a strong curiosity and desire to master new tools and concepts drives you.   #LI-Hybrid
